A young man came in to see me for a mental condition. He said he suddenly gets very active running around doing 10 things at a time, then his mood changes and he feels so lifeless that he can’t do anything, can’t even get up from his bed. He had gone to the medical doctors to find out if there is anything wrong with him. His doctors have labeled his condition as bipolar, and told him there is no cure for it but gave him some drugs to take to for the rest of his life to “control” his moodswings.
On the natural healing side, things are not that bleak. We can group this condition and other mental conditions as mental blockages. The exact label of disease given is not important. What’s important to understand is that there are blockages on the mental channels. The remedy is to open up the blocked mental channels thereby allowing vital energy and blood to flow through. And this can be achieved by several natural healing methods.
1. Flower Essences
Flower Essences are safe energy medicines and have no interactions with any drugs or herbs. They can be added to water and drank. The nature of flower essences makes them gioiod for both bipolar clients and the people who are around them.
When a person is in a manic state, where the mind is full of ideas and the person has inability to sleep, flower essences can help. The White Chestnut flower essence is the remedy for unwanted thoughts and mental arguments that intrude into the mind and stop us from concentrating. This often leads to insomnia, which is common in hypomania. Also, racing thoughts are often combined with severe depression.
The Mustard flower essence is the remedy for deep gloom and depression that descends for no apparent reason or emerges out of the thought pattern.
When a person has outburst, irritable and intolerant, the Beech flower essence can help as this remedy helps to encourage tolerance and understanding, so the irritability fades.
Certain herbs and supplements have been shown to improve depressive symptoms and can help control anxiety. These include:
Natural plant-based adaptogens herbs, including ginseng, holy basil, ashwaganda and rhodiola, which help control the body’s stress response, lower cortisol, improve energy/focus and balance hormones in various ways.
St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a natural antidepressant that can be helpful for getting good sleep.
An effective natural healing treatment for relieving mental blockages is Hijama. It focuses on promoting the flow of energy from the surface of our bodies in towards our organs. This vital energy or Qi is critical to not only our spiritual health, but also to our emotional, physical, and mental balance.
The proper balance can be restored by pulling out the dirty blood from specific points along the energy channels. A skilled Hijama energetics practitioner can apply pressure along certain areas of the skin and clearing up any energy blockages and allowing the body to heal itself.
Chemically speaking, Hijama treatment stimulates the central nervous system, releasing endorphins that bipolar patients may not produce in high enough quantities normally. This process helps bipolar and depressed patients to enjoy a significant reduction in their symptoms of mania while following a regular sessions of Hijama.
Bipolar patients may not regain complete control of their lives immediately and may need a series of Hijama treatments in order to attain long-term benefits. Consult your practitioner for a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
HijamaHerbs treatments are based on finding blockages in the physical body, mental/emotional and the spiritual side (in case of sihr/jinn afflictions). When the blockages are correctly identified, then Hijama is performed to clear the blockages, and herbs are taken to rejuvenate the internal organs. To clear emotional blockages, Rahmah emotional clearing procedures are utilized.
