A woman came to us this week saying that she has been told by her doctor that her liver is not functioning properly and he wants to put her on medical drugs. She said she hates taking medical drugs due to the terrible side effects it produces. She asked us if there are any natural remedies for healing her liver and bringing it back to normal functioning.
One of the signs of liver not functioning properly is the weakness in eyesight. The eyes are the sensory organ related to the Liver. If you have any eye issues, including blurry vision, red or dry eyes, itchy eyes, it may be a sign deep down that your Liver is not functioning smoothly.
Another sign of liver disease is itchy skin problems. The liver is your second biggest organ, with the first being your skin. If your liver isn’t doing its job of breaking down toxins properly, then they’ll need to be eliminated from your body by other means – one way they come out is through your skin. This can manifest in conditions such as dermatitis, eczema, acne and breakouts.
The liver is also the body’s primary fat metaboliser. If the liver becomes sluggish and fatty, it impacts on its ability to burn fat, and also makes it really hard to shift the weight once it is on. If you’re trying to lose weight, it’s also important that you make an extra effort to support the liver. Why? Because toxins are stored in your fat cells and when you burn body fat, these toxins are released into the body, and it’s the liver’s job to process them.
Do you have a bloated or painful stomach after eating a fatty meal? Bile is produced from cholesterol by the liver cells, and is used for the breakdown of fatty foods allowing them to be digested and absorbed. Poor liver function may result in decreased bile production, which can manifest as inability to digest fatty foods. If you’re not absorbing fats properly, you’re also not absorbing the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K- vital for healthy skin, immunity, bones and much more.
Another job of the liver is to regulate the levels of our hormones. A dysfunctional liver can result in elevated levels of the hormone oestrogen, which can lead to some of the symptoms suffered in PMS including mood swings, irritability, sore boobs and bloating.
HijamaHerbs for Liver Health
The herb Milk thistle can benefit people with cirrhosis of the liver, according to a published report. Analyzing five clinical trials (with a total of 602 cirrhosis patients), researchers determined that treatment with milk thistle could lead to a significant reduction in liver-related mortality.
Turmeric is useful in the treatment of hepatitis B and hepatitis C. In a 2009 study on liver cells, for instance, scientists discovered that turmeric extract helped stop the hepatitis B virus from replicating. A test-tube study published in 2010, meanwhile, demonstrated that turmeric extract might help suppress the replication of the hepatitis C virus.
By taking the above mentioned herbs and performing HijamaHerbs sessions on the liver channel can go a long way towards the cleansing and rejuvenating the liver, allowing it to function properly. This is can help clear skin problems such as acne and psoriasis, lose the excess weight, balance your hormones and also stabilize your mood.
